This tutorial is to give you some tips for using the folded paper templates that I made. Download templates here . There are several papers, including the one used in this tut.
Open one of the templates in PI:
You might want to click on the path tool and remove the border.
Open the paper you want to use and copy it to the clipboard. Activate each piece and use Edit, Paste, Under pointer to fill some of the pieces like so:
Then either change the colors of the other pieces or fill with a complimentary color or pattern.
You might want to add a shadow, then R/C, Split shadow and move it where it looks best.
Convert any path shapes to objects, then use the Airbrush, white, straight line to accent the top of each fold.
Pick a somewhat darker color for the Airbrush and paint a line beside the white one.
Use the Burn tool set at strength 40 and darken the edges of each piece.
When you are happy with your paper, combine as a single object.
Just keep this tip in mind when using any of the other templates:
Light makes it look closer and darker makes it look farther.
